Project 3 (Part A) Source/Video

Project Description:
This project will explore your source idea in video form. You will continue to consider the evolving definition of your source by breaking it down into 5 key aspects.
You will shoot A TOTAL of 5 one-minute sections of video, each section based on one of your 5 key aspects. You can’t shoot any more than 5 minutes. This project requires lots and lots of thinking before you even push the record button.

Guidelines
• Continue to develop your source idea and its definition by breaking it down into 5 key aspects. List these 5 aspects in your latest “sources journal” entry.
• Each one minute section of your video must be one continuous shot.
• Each one minute section of your video must contain movement: either movement in the frame, or movement of the camera.
• You may not add any music for this project, but you can use ambient noise recorded while shooting.

DUE
• An email of your entire (updated) “sources journal” listing and a new entry describing the 5 key aspects of your source. (email a copy to by Wednesday at noon)
• One mini DV tape containing ONLY 5 one minute sections of video.

Project 3 (Part B) Source/Video

Project Description:
For this assignment you will continue to explore your source idea in video form. Using iMovie, you will edit your 5 one-minute sections of video to a final one-minute piece.

Guidelines
• Using iMovie, import all of your 5 one-minute sections of video onto your computer or portable hard drive.
• Using iMovie, edit your video down to one minute that clearly reflects your subject as it has developed and progressed. Your final one-minute piece must include at least some part of each of your 5 sections of video.
• Export your video to Quicktime using ‘full quality DV’ setting.
• Burn your one minute Quicktime video onto a CD.

DUE:
• An email of your entire (updated) “sources journal” (email a copy to me)
• CD containing your one minute Quicktime video.
