- Harrington School (Lexington, MA)
The
Harrington Elementary school in Lexington is seeking an Artist-in-Residence to
work with staff and children on the creation of a hallway mural. The mural will
adorn an 80Õ long hallway on the upper floor of the newly built Harrington
school. The school includes grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The selected
artist must be an experienced muralist with a proven ability to work well with
children. The Artist-in-Residence will work in conjunction with children and
staff on both the thematic design of the mural as well as painting the mural.
Themes under consideration include those involving social development, social
consciousness and appreciation for cultural diversity and community. The
selected artist will receive compensation for his/her work with the school.

year the Women's Studio Workshop (WSW) awards two eight-week Art-in-Education
residency grants for emerging artists working in book arts. Grantees will teach
young people through the studio-based Art-in-Education program entitled
"Hands-on-Art" and have the opportunity to spend time creating new
