Matt Nolan, Glaciologist
Dr. Nolan is an associate professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he studies glacier/climate interactions in the Arctic. Primarily a field scientist, he has projects throughout Alaska, as well as in Siberia and Antarctica. His primary glaciologic research tools are differential GPS to measure ice motion, automatic weather stations to measure climate, and skis to get around.

At the ICA Climate Commons can be viewed on laptops in the Climate commons Lounge, which provides a modular social space for conversation and inquiry. The Lounge’s furniture was created by Marsching with Justin C. Knapp and Christopher Wawrinofsky with upcycled materials from the construction of the new ICA building
