eSAT…Environmental Standardized Art Techniques

Gas Hog

Hello All,
I’m happy to announce after several months in the lab, we will be launching the eSAT campaign in March 2007.
eSAT (which stands for Environmental Standardized art Techniques) provides free environmental signage to schools around the world.

Teachers and students will be able to pick their favorite cause, favorite artist, and favorite language. Artists designing eSAT signage includes an all-star roster of artists, designers and celebrities. I currently have a recycling bin that Hunter S Thompson designed for us in the Global Inheritance. The artists designing for eSAT are in the same neighborhood (but probably not as rad as Hunter). All eSAT signage will be logo free.

Back when I was going to school, any cause based signage you’d find in the classroom or in the halls was usually super corny, horribly designed and communicated the message as if you were a total moron. kids today have been marketed to since Day 1, so the artwork, message and messenger is paramount.

Since we are now building the website and finalizing our list of artists, we’d love any feedback and/or ideas. You can contact us at hey@globalinheritance.org. We’ve already signed on a ton of media partners…so spreading the word shouldn’t be so hard. What’s important is finding people who will give the project legs so we able to reach students/teachers in other countries. As I mentioned, you’ll be able to pick artwork in different languages. French, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Dutch, etc. Our biggest goal with eSAT is reach and communicating the right ideas in a cool way to kids at an early age when they are most impressionable.

All the Best,
Eric

This is fantastic! I have a five year old and tho we are now in a Montessori school that is strictly logo free, we are always searching for ways to bring things like climate change into the school in compelling images. What artists do you have on board? Do you need feedback on your site as it develops? I’d be happy to participate in that.
